Our mission is to create environmental and social change through action and understanding.

We do this through our three core initiatives and networks which drive community-led action, as well as through our e-learning package which offers comprehensive and accessible understanding of the issues we face globally today.

Core initiatives & networks:

Growing Communities Network which creates networks,  linking our growing spaces and school and community orchards with a wider local network.

Schools Network which provides nature-based learning opportunities that meet curriculum needs, as well as connecting schools into a network where young people collect valuable biodiversity information and share their wildlife-friendly activities.

Intergenerational Growing Initiative which brings generations together to connect with one another as well as with the environment through nature-based activities.

Bringing different groups within communities together to create environmental and social change is at the very heart of all our activities.

We support local authorities, charities,  parish councils, local environmental groups community growers, and many more in coming together to create spaces that improve mental health and wellbeing, improve social cohesion and health, and where possible create employment opportunities and support for local businesses.

E-learning:

We have created a flexible, interactive, and cost-effective eLearning package for young people to access.  Our aim is to engage on matters relating to the climate emergency in a way that is stimulating and empowering as well as intuitive and straightforward.  The purpose of this package is to give young people the knowledge to become environmentally and socially aware citizens of the future, who will make choices based on sound knowledge.

I am inspired by the idea that we can face social and environmental challenges through rekindling togetherness with our communities and local wildlife.

I believe in the power of young people, communities, and businesses to create meaningful change. The communities  and students we engage  with, inspire me every day to work to create more projects that are environmentally and socially positive and support change

I believe that change is possible, One Planet Matters was set up to enable real and meaningful environmental activity focused on sustainability and positive environmental outcomes.

How we achieve this has been a journey and one which is challenging,   enjoyable , frustrating  but ultimately worthwhile.

We are working to bring different elements of communities together to create environmental and social change

The only way we can create meaningful change is through working together. One Planet Matters works with communities to enable community engagement whilst improving biodiversity and creating environmentally positive change

. I’ve loved doing the artwork for the online resources, as it was not only fun, but I learnt a lot in the process.
